Dear Grandville
School District Voters
My name is Joe Steffes
I am running for Grandville School Board this November. I would like to introduce myself, so you have a clear vision of who I am. I have lived in Grandville School District 99% of my life. I am a graduate of Grandville High School, Class of 1985. I have two adult children that graduated from Grandville and I currently have two stepchildren attending Grandville. My parents moved to this community because they believed it to be a strong community with traditional values. I still believe in those same traditional values today. I attended GRCC (GRJC for those of you who remember) studying for a degree in Education but changed to Criminal Justice. I graduated the GRCC Police Academy and was hired by the Wyoming Police Department in June of 1993. I have fulfilled my dreams of protecting this community for the last 29 years. I have been involved in almost every area within the department including, SWAT, Detective, Community Officer, School Safety Officer and several more. I was privileged to be promoted twice. First to sergeant and then to lieutenant a couple years later. As of July 5th, 2022, I am retired. Besides focusing on a second career, I still have a great desire to serve my community. I believe a position on the school board will fulfil that need. As an officer I took pride in protecting some of our most precious citizens, our children. I will do everything in my power to do the same for all Grandville School District kids. Please allow me the opportunity to utilize my common sense and experience in Law Enforcement to protect our children.

Putting My Experience
To Work For You
My name is Joe Steffes and I’m running for Grandville Public School Board because I want to continue serving my community.
-
I retired after 29 years of service for the Wyoming Police Department. I retired at the rank of Lieutenant.
-
I was in command of the community services unit that included the school liaison officers.
-
I understand the modern problems working with the schools and school administrators.
-
I directed two operational programs to keep our kids safe. “Stop the Bleed” and “Every School, Everyday."
-
I am convinced that these programs worked to keep kids and staff safe.
-
I want to work with administrators, staff, and the Grandville PD to implement similar programs.
A Vote for me will ensure goals like these will be part of the Grandville Public School Board's bi-weekly discussions.
-
Prioritize safety programs to keep all students and staff safe.
-
Focus on parent’s ability to stay involved
-
Work with Administrators and Staff to assure Grandville Schools maintain the highest-level education
Let my experience and common sense as a police officer and parent work for our community!
